Hey! I hope you are having an amazing Sunday and I want to tell you a little bit about a lovely exhibit I’ve visited, Chanel:The Legend, in The Hague. I wanted to go earlier, but didn’t have time, so yesterday I’ve spent a lovely day with a fellow blogger, Vanessa, between Madame’s designs. You can also check my Facebook and Instagram accounts :D.
Salut! Sper ca aveti o duminica placuta si voiam sa va spun cate ceva despre o expozitie minunata: Chanel:The legend, in Haga.
As you entered the first room, 3 light colored Chanel costumes were standing in front of us. After that, a whole different world revealed, a world of luxury and magnificent years. Simplicity can characterize most of her pieces, but they were so innovative for those times, she was open minded and free. Some of the pieces were opulent, especially jewelries. Tweed was the main fabric used for her well known costumes in different colors. You could touch some samples of tweed used in her clothes and also 2 blazers could be tried.
Cum intrai in prima camera, 3 costume in culori deschise te asteptau. Multe dintre piese erau opulente, in special bijuteriile. Tweed-ul era materialul principal pentru bine cunoscutele ei costume, in diferite culori.
A lot of pictures were shown that presented a big part of her life and work, how she became a well known designer, a short history of Chanel House, a brief story about Karl Lagerfeld and his vision. Old Vogue and Elle magazines were exposed and also an original bottle of Chanel no. 5 from 1921. There were presented some facts and fiction about Coco Chanel and her work. The most interesting one was that she never draw her designs on paper, she just fitted them on models. Also she was very superstitious. Maybe because of the movies inspired by her life, many people know that she chose the number 5 for her famous perfume because it was the fifth perfume presented to her. In fact she chose the number five, because she considered it her lucky number, and also the lion, her zodiacal sign. I could also see five as a print for a dress. A whole room was dedicated to the Little Black Dress, I liked many of her designs and they are still wearable nowadays.
All in all, I liked the exhibit. I found out many things about this lovely woman which changed the way women dressed and maybe their view about life. I expected to see more accessories, more bags especially (I’m in love with Chanel bags). Maybe I would have also liked to see how Chanel House evolved in time and how come they still have that big influence in 2014. It is a great exhibit if you are passionate about the subject and I recommend it to any fashion lover. I had a great time.
In concluzie, mi-a placut expozitia.
